Friends of the Libraries Workshop Series

The Wright State University Friends of the Libraries offer a new workshop series for 2013-2014. All are held 10:30am-12:30pm in the Wright State Paul Laurence Dunbar Library, and cost $12 for Friends’ members and $15 for non-members.

Your Life Story, October 12, 2013
Make a ‘digital scrapbook’ using your own photos to play over the holidays and give as gifts. Participants will provide 20-24 photos in advance for the Libraries to scan in preparation for the workshop. All photos will be returned at the workshop.

Learn to use Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, and more to keep in touch with (and impress!) family & friends. For all ages.

Research Your Roots, January 11, 2014
For the beginning genealogist to learn what materials are available, where to find them, and how to get started.

History thru Newspapers, February 8, 2014
Research and relive local history through old newspapers in the Archives’ collection.

No previous experience in scanning, multimedia, social media, or genealogy is necessary. Fees include take-home materials and light refreshments.

The Friends’ Workshop Series shares specialized information available in the Wright State University Libraries. Instructors are Libraries’ staff who are experts in their areas. Our goal is to help you get started on projects for you and your family that can be continued and enjoyed at home.

Seating is limited. Registration and pre-payment are required. Free & convenient parking.

The Friends of the Libraries are a not-for-profit group that supports the Wright State University Libraries’ programs, resources, and services.
