Fall Finals ’14 Stress Reliever – Dec. 8 – 12

From Massage Monday to the return of Fuzz Therapy on Friday, University Libraries and University Activities Board will be hosting Stress Reliever activities in Dunbar Library (with some in the Student Union) EVERY DAY of finals week!

Massage (and Mario) Monday, Dec. 8 – 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. 15-minute professional chair massages in Dunbar Library Atrium and Student Union Atrium. In the SU, you can even play Mario Kart while you wait!  Sign up for your massage early at Cram Jam, December 7th 6:00 to 10:00 pm in Dunbar Library.

Coffee and Cookies Tuesday, Dec. 9 – 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Dunbar Library Group Study Room. First come first served. Free coffee samples provided by Hospitality Services. Decorate holiday cookies and play a few Brain Games as you enjoy your creations.

Candy “Bar” and Cards Wednesday, Dec. 10 – 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Dunbar Library Group Study Room. First come first served. Indulge at our candy bar and decorate holiday cards for Dayton Children’s Hospital.

Throw Back Thursday, Dec. 11 – 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Dunbar Library Group Study Room. Feel like a kid again as you color, draw or play with Play-doh and unwind before or after finals.

Cram Jam – Dec. 7th!

Studies have shown that taking regular short breaks while studying can help students manage stress and increase focus. With this in mind, the University Libraries and University Activities Board are proud to present the second annual:

Sunday, December 7th
6:00 to 10:00 p.m.
Dunbar Library, Group Study Room

Please join us for 15 minutes of fun, 45 minutes of study each hour. Tutors and study coaches will be available, brought to you by WSU Tutoring Services.

Pizza, soda and snacks will be provided. Check-in with your Wright1 card is required!!!!

 

Fun stations include:

  • Aromatherapy
  • Jewelry making
  • Holiday cookie decorating
  • Play-doh: Relax and be a kid again as you create and de-stress
  • Cards for Kids: You decorate ’em, we’ll donate ’em – Dayton Children’s Hospital
  • Amazing Animal Shorts: your favorite wacky animal videos plus free popcorn!

Cram Jam will also feature:

  • Zumba
  • Yoga
  • Silent Dance Party (See below!)
  • Nerf basketball

Silent Dance Party Update:

At a silent dance party, participants listen to music on headphones while dancing together as a group. It might feel silly, but it’s a great way to get active and de-stress. Check out this video from Carleton College.
