STAC Studios Reopen with State-of-the-Art Technology and Creation Station

STAC Studios A and B are now available for student, faculty, or staff bookings.  The studios are equipped with new state-of-the-art technology to support a variety of audio and video editing projects such as: digital storytelling, online teaching videos, group interviews, voiceovers, digitizing artwork, graphic art/design projects, green screen recording, and more. The new Creation Station in Studio B is perfect for graphic arts – design, drawing, and digitizing artwork.

Studios A and B are available for four-hour bookings from the Libraries’ spaces webpage.  WSU students, faculty, and staff are able to book the studios.

Studio A

Are you interested in recording a voice-over or creating a green screen video for a project or club event?  Maybe you want to start your own podcast or become the next YouTube or TikTok sensation! Studio A is your resource for audio and video production in the STAC.  

This room contains a 21.5″ Apple iMac with Retina 4K display, Blue Yeti-X Microphone (suspended on a studio arm, with a shock mount and pop screen filter), studio lights, studio monitoring headphones with amplifier, and a Brio Ultra HD Pro 4K webcam. 

Cameras, tripods, and other equipment can be checked out at the Circulation Desk on the 1st floor.

Studio B  

Studio B

The Wacom Cintiq Pro 32 Creative Pen and Touch Display is a drawing tablet, ideal for graphic design. It has an etched glass screen where you can see and draw directly where you want to. Wacom’s biggest touchscreen display (31.5”) with 4K resolution allows you to see every detail of your creation in pinpoint accuracy. Etched glass screen provides a distinct, tactile experience as you draw, while reducing unwanted glare and reflections. True-to-life color with 99% Adobe RGB and 1.07 billion colors (10 bits color) means the tint you choose is the tint you’ll see in your final output. 

Includes a Wacom Pro Pen 2 with tilt recognition and 8,192 levels of pressure sensitivity.  Available for Checkout at the Circulation Desk.

  • Creating videos in Athletic Training classes, Population and Public Health 6500 classes. 
  • Short, segmented, pre-recorded content for fully asynchronous online courses

Dunbar Library Closed Weekends in June for Electrical Maintenance

Facilities Management is implementing the next phase of electrical infrastructure upgrades. They are proactively replacing equipment that is approaching end of life status. The replacement equipment will assure continued power reliability in the affected areas. Major electrical distribution equipment is scheduled to be replaced in Dunbar Library this June, requiring the Dunbar Library facilities to be closed during the replacement.

Dunbar Library will be closed on the following dates:

  • June 12 – 13
  • June 19 – 20
  • June 26 – 27

Library staff will remain available for assistance.

  • The Ask a Librarian Service will be available Saturday and Sunday from 1 – 6 p.m.
  • Library staff can also arrange curbside pickup of some library materials by calling 937-775-2525. Hours for curbside pickup are Saturday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Sunday 1 – 10 p.m.
  • The library website is available 24/7.

Alternative study and computing spaces will be available on the dates Dunbar Library must close. WSU students, faculty, and staff may visit the areas below. Guest computing accounts will not be available during the closure.

Dunbar Library open after Thanksgiving with expanded hours for finals week

The Dunbar Library will maintain operating hours after the Thanksgiving holiday when the campus transitions to full remote learning. From November 28th through December 1st, the library hours will follow the regular semester hours. Those hours are:

  • Monday through Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • Friday 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Saturday – 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Sunday – 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Extended Finals Week Hours:

The library will also continue their tradition of extending library hours prior to finals. Hours will be extended December 2nd through December 10th with the following schedule:

  • Monday through Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
  • Friday 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • Saturday – 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • Sunday – 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Break Hours

From December 13th to January 9th the library will transition to break hours with the exception of the University’s Winter Break when the library will be closed. Dunbar Library break hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and closed on the weekends.

Starbucks Hours

Starbucks will close on November 24th and will not reopen until January 11th. Stop by now for their festive holiday drinks.
