On June 5, 1862, Jennie Price, a niece of Julia Patterson, wrote her aunt a letter from States Run, Kentucky. In her letter, she reports on her trip home and the potential of being searched when crossing the Ohio River at Cincinnati. There is also an interesting comment about the views of a cousin, Ellen Searles, who is a secessionist. (Transcript of Jennie Price letter, June 5, 1862).
