You’re Invited to the 2nd Annual WSU Public History Graduate Symposium!

2013Symposium_flyercover_Page_1Please join us for the 2nd Annual Wright State University Public History Graduate Symposium, Wright in Your Own Backyard: Exploring & Presenting Controversy in Public History, on Friday, March 22, 2013, from 9:00-4:30 in the WSU Student Union Endeavor Room.

The Symposium will feature presentations by current WSU Public History graduate students, who will showcase their internships, projects, and research. The symposium will have two guest speakers: Tom Crouch, Senior Curator for the National Air and Space Museum, and Mark Holbrook, Marketing Manager for the Ohio Historical Society. Dawne Dewey, Head of Special Collections and Archives and Director of Public History, will also give an overview of the Public History program.

The Symposium is free and open to the public; free parking is available in the Visitor Lot near the Student Union (see map). Registration begins at 8:15 A.M. Light refreshments will be provided between sessions; a longer break for lunch on your own will also be observed.

Although the Symposium is free, we would appreciate your RSVP by March 18, so we can plan for enough refreshments. Please email Sam Mikell at [email protected], or call the Wright State University Archives at 937-775-2092.

The Symposium schedule is posted below. But if that’s not enough to entice you, you can read all about last year’s 2012 Public History Symposium in this article from the Winter 2012 Public History Newsletter or this blog post written by one of the session moderators to learn more about what to expect.

We hope to see you on March 22nd!
