Dale Huffman to speak at Living Legends of the Dayton Daily News on July 18

Please join us for the 5th Annual Living Legends of the Dayton Daily News Archive lecture, featuring Dayton Daily News columnist Dale Huffman, on Friday, July 18, from 6:30-9:00 p.m. This event is free & open to the public and will take place on the 4th floor of the Paul Laurence Dunbar Library. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the program begins at 7:00 p.m.


Beginning at 6:30, as well as following the program, guests may visit with Mr. Huffman as well as enjoy exhibits and light refreshments. Exhibits will feature columns, awards, and photographs documenting Mr. Huffman’s career, as well as items from the Dayton Daily News Archive and samples from the WSU Student News Bureau.

Dale Huffman has been sharing good news and happy stories from around Dayton since 1968. In 1998, he published a book Dayton: The Cradle of Creativity, and in 2008, he was inducted to the Dayton Walk of Fame. Take this opportunity to meet him and hear his stories in-person.

This series is sponsored collaboratively by Wright State’s Department of Communication, College of Liberal Arts, and the University Libraries’ Special Collections and Archives. The Living Legends lecture series celebrates the Dayton Daily News Archive, an extensive collection donated to WSU by the newspaper.

This year’s Living Legends of the Dayton Daily News will also celebrate the official opening of the Dayton Daily News Archive to researchers, as well as the donation of Dale Huffman’s collection to Special Collections & Archives.
