Archives receives Generous Gift from Former DDN Columnist Dale Huffman

Just over two years ago, we met Dale Huffman at his home to talk about bringing his papers to Special Collections and Archives at Wright State University. He became an instant friend and champion for our mission.

Dale was a long time columnist for the Dayton Daily News. He died on July 26, 2015.

Dale Huffman’s legacy is now preserved in his papers here in the archives. His belief in our mission is evident in his great generosity. We are very grateful for Dale’s gift of $256,492, just announced by the Dayton Foundation.  The Dale M. Huffman Memorial Fund will provide an annual gift to help the archives continue to collect, preserve and make available the rich history of Dayton.

Thank you, Dale, for caring so much about your town, its people, and history.

Dale Huffman was honored at our 5th annual Living Legends of the Dayton Daily News Archives event in July 2014.
