New Exhibit Celebrates 150 Years of the Victoria Theatre

We are pleased to announce the recent installation of a new exhibit in the lobby of Dunbar Library celebrating this year’s sesquicentennial of the Victoria Theatre.

The exhibit, created by archivist Gino Pasi and public history student Shelby Dixon, presents highlights from the 150-year history of theatre, which originated in the 1860s as the Turner Opera House.

The Victoria has persevered through fire, flood, threat of closure, and several name changes, to remain a cultural fixture at the corner of First and Main in downtown Dayton for one and a half centuries! We hope you’ll stop by soon to learn more!
