Throughout the year of 2017, Special Collections & Archives will help celebrate Wright State University’s 50th anniversary with a series of posts honoring the university’s history. We will explore our past through the use of historical resources available in the university archives that help document the story of the university, our faculty, staff, students and alumni. We will highlight historical projects as well as special events and activities being planned throughout the year, with culminating anniversary events to take place in the fall. In today’s post, we would like to tell you about a new publication on WSU history written by a recent alum. Rebekkah Mulhollan ’14, a graduate of of the Public History track in the Dept of History, recently had her work, Wright State University, published by Arcadia Press, in their Campus History Series. Rebekkah’s book, which contains well over 170 photos from the university archives, was the product of a rather ambitious capstone project. Work on the book continued well after her graduation and was completed through close collaboration with staff at Special Collections & Archives. It truly was a labor of love for Rebekkah to see this project through, and we are excited to see this project come to fruition, and just in time for the university’s 50 anniversary.
